Pedro Bidarra, Creative Director from BBDO Portugal is well know for being a blood-minded type of person. But i guess this time he’s way over his marks.
This video might have something to do with recruitment or to showcase the viral competences of the agency. Anyway, it’s funny to see the enormous ego of a Creative Director end like this.
The Christmas season already opened in retail stores, so i guess it’s time for the the interactive scene to start giving us some presents. Starbucks is one of the first examples i’ve seen with http://www.itsredagain.com/
It’s the traditional e-card evolved, allowing you to select a personalized card with voice (Natural Voices from IBM, maybe ?).
A global campaign reach, with several languages supported, the mood of the site reminds us of the Christmas decorations of Starbucks cofee shops.
The Portuguese mobile solutions company YDreams, has released this weekend the the latest installment of the Underwold series, with football star Cristiano Ronaldo as the main character.
The collaboration with Manchester’s United pretty boy is a big push in the visibility of the company and a sign that the Cristiano’s publicists are aware of the power of mobile in younger markets, especially if it’s endorsed by one of their idols.
You can download the mobile game at: http://www.cristianoronaldogame.com/

Quote: Jon Gay and Robert Tatsumi (the creators of Flash) have teamed up with Gary Grossman (the creator of ActionScript) and Peter Santangeli (former vice president of engineering at Macromedia) to create a new start up company named Software As Art. So far, no public information on the new company’s products or services is available. Looks like for now, we’ll all just have to wait and see what these Flash pioneers get up to.

The Australian Navy is using MSN Messenger in it’s recruitment efforts, through the Instant Games feature.
This move is in pace with the changing habits of young males, that are replacing traditional media such as TV or radio, with gaming and internet. If they’ve seen this panel from Guy Kawasaky, then they might be doing also some mobile efforts.
Hehe. The Atlanta Addys launched a website to promote the event, a treat for someone working in advertising and a good sense of humour. In short, it goes like this:
What if you didn’t had the fortune(?!?!) of working in advertising?
Would you be any good at some other job?
The answer is a series of short videos that make fun of the usual advertising stereotypes.
The video narrative is well done, but it could even be more viral if they had a “Send a friend” or “Post to blog” feature.
You have to be a semi-geek to get the video as standalone, so guys, make our life easier – after all, we work in advertising.
