Thanks for the great article. Leave good ideas in health care. And to be healthy non-obese healthy is important to choose food that is useful. And exercise. Which is what many people always tend to overlook.

Armando, what a great post. It encapsulates a bunch of interesting behavioural trends. Althought not being new (communal forms of solidary in production and consumption have always existed in pre and itself in capitalistic societies), I reckon they are indeed reaching a tipping point - thus making things quite interesting and exciting for prosumers.

Anyway I just wanted to say that for every macro-trend there's always a counter-trend. For example, it's true that people are stretching the lifecycle of a product, either because they're concerned with the environment or bluntly because they're skint. But at the same time the "temporary ownership" of objects is still a strong counter-behaviour if you look at the majority of Western's consumption pattern. People get bored easily they buy, they use, they swap, they sell or give away. The lifecycle of objects still is quite short - "perpetual new". Hence the success of brands like IKEA, Zara, H&M etc.

Armando,

Thanks for this fantastic post. Love how you have pulled together different angles around collaboration/collectivism and consumerism.

The point you mentioned around Threadless I actually fleshed out in a recent article called Brand We http://www.collaborativeconsumption.com/assets/br... Its amazing how collaborative brands that are genuinely built by their community, not sexy campaigns have a heart and soul that can't be manipulated or replicated. Its a whole new kind of loyalty companies need to get on board with!

Cheers,

Rachel
