Thank you, MJ

Because he was more than a basketball player.

On his Hall Of Fame induction speech, he’s also proven to be a great storyteller.

Thank you, MJ

Sony Twilight Football

On September 22, 7 matches will be played at specially chosen locations with the Twilight Football final in South Africa.
The tournament is sponsored by Sony to promote their Exmor CMOS Sensor technology, able to capture fast-moving action in low light filming conditions.

I’m not that into bull fighting, but the football players on the video above have some raging skills.

The first music video on teletext

Even with Vimeo launching their new categories feature, we still can’t say TV goodbye. A lot of great content still lives on TV, and when i thought this medium couldn’t think out of the box, Great Works Spain pulled a new trick: The first music video ever shown on teletext.

The video is being shown the next 2 weeks on Channel 4 (Spanish national TV), on Teletext page 899, promoting Pedro Marín’s new single “El día después“ with a stylish glam rock look. Enjoy the music video below:

User Experience and Context

Somehow related to last post’s theme of progressive enhancement, i found out via Johnny Holland a simple but effective video on “Designing for Mobiles: Users & Context”. The student work is based on the first chapters of Barbara Ballard’s book Designing the Mobile User Experience, depicting the increasing importance of understanding the newer platforms, where and how are they used, and how it relates to designing the user experience.

A glass and a half full of eyebrows

Cadbury brings another delicacy, with some eyebrows techno crazyness.

Eyebrows brings to life the story of a brother and sister’s moment of mischief when backs are turned and they are left to their own devices. Feeling the rhythm, the children crank out a range of eyebrow dance moves for 60 seconds to the sound of ‘Don’t Stop the Rock’ by electro-funk superstar, Freestyle.

The true story of Father Christmas

Rare Exports Inc, from the land of the original Father Christmas

A long, long time ago Father Christmases roamed free in Lapland. At some point in time, native people found out that these creatures could be caught, and trained to become well-mannered servants. In 1793, a group of native Laplanders set up a small company to export extremely rare Original Finnish Father Christmas ® all over the World. Today, Rare Exports Inc. is one of
the most successful companies in Finland trading with nearly 150 countries.

Rare Exports Inc, directed by Jalmari Helander and produced by Woodpecker Film (http://www.woodpeckerfilm.fi) shows the process of transforming a wild Father Christmas into a finished product, all the way from tracking and hunting in the wilderness, to the intensive training period and finishing touches made to the ready-to-be-shipped item.
